Saving Lives: Emergency Medical Fund

Golden retriever lying down during a vet procedure.

The Heavenly Orphans Project provides emergency grants for life-saving veterinary procedures. As a Veteran-led organization, our "Leave No One Behind" mission extends directly to animals in crisis. Because our resources are finite, we work hard to bridge the gap between financial hardship and medical necessity—intervening to prevent economic euthanasia when every second counts.

Eligibility & Funding Guidelines

Please read our strict operational guidelines carefully before applying:

  • Limited Capital: Funding is strictly limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis according to our current available reserves.
  • Urgent Need Only: Grants are reserved exclusively for life-threatening emergencies and critical surgeries. We do not fund routine veterinary care, vaccinations, or standard checkups.
  • Application Required: Assistance is never guaranteed. Applicants must submit a detailed account of the medical emergency along with a formal itemized estimate from a licensed veterinarian.
  • Case-by-Case Review: Every situation is thoroughly reviewed for clinical urgency and impact. All decisions are final and based solely on fund availability.
  • No Reimbursements: We do not provide reimbursements for veterinary bills that have already been paid.
  • Direct Payment: If approved, all payments are sent directly to the treating veterinary clinic or hospital. No funds are ever paid to individuals.

Submit a Funding Request

Submission of a request does not guarantee funding. Applications are reviewed based on clinical urgency and the current balance of our emergency reserves. Incomplete requests or submissions missing a formal written veterinarian estimate cannot be reviewed.
